UAE Red Crescent Society delegation visits Azerbaijan

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Red Crescent Society (RCS) delegation led by Saleh Muhammad al-Mullah, RCS Deputy Secretary on Donation projects, is on visit to Azerbaijan.

As APA reports, that was initiative of Azerbaijani extraordinary and plenipotentiary Ambassador to the UAE Eldar Salimov.

The State Committee on Refugees (SCR) and IDPs informed that the delegation was received by Deputy Prime Minister, Chair of the SCR and IDPs, Head of Republic Commission for International Humanitarian Aid Ali Hassanov.

Mr. Hassanov informed the visitors about the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, President Ilham Aliyev's foreign policy to settle this problem, measures on the refugees and IDPs implemented by the state and international organizations, the problems they face.

Mr. Hassanov presented the book titled "Information on 1 million refugees and IDPs as a result of ethnic cleansing in Armenia and occupation of 20% territories of Azerbaijan by Armenian Armed Forces (1988-2005)".

The RCS delegation visited the displaced-persons camps in Sabirabad and Saatli regions today. The delegation donated 6 kinds of food and non-food products to 1700 IDPs in Sabirabad and 800 in Saatli. 135 tons of flour were donated to the IDPs housed in new settlements of Aghdam.

The visitors also familiarized with the conditions of IDPs who have settled in wagons in Imishli and new settlements in Bilasuvar. The delegation members will also visit new settlements for IDPs in Aghjabedi, Barda and Aghdam to familiarize with their conditions.
