Lawsuit by chairman of AIP to be considered on 24 Feb

The Sabail district court held a legal proceeding on consideration of the lawsuit by Hajiaga Nuri, the chairman of the Azerbaijan Islamic Party (AIP), against the Central Election Committee (CEC) on Tuesday.

Judge Yusif Karimov announced 3-day consultations after consideration of the lawsuit.

The suit is related to the initiative on illegal annulment of the candidacy of Nuri during the parliamentary elections by Vidadi Mahmudov, the former secretary of CEC. Nuri requires compensation for material and moral damage caused to him, Trend reports.

Chingiz Guliyev, the lawyer of Nuri, and Irada Hajiyeva, the representative of CEC, participated in the hearing, which will continue on 24 February at 17.30pm.
