Sales of newly-constructed apartments decreased by 40%

Currently there are 544 many-storeyed residential buildings being erected in Baku and total area of housing stock of those buildings form 6 million m2.

"Average net cost of 1 m2 of each apartment equals to $200-250," said Nusrat Ibrahimov, the executive director of the Participants of Housing Market (PHM) Public Union monitoring the building market.

According to Ibrahimov, last year sale of apartments in Baku city decreased by 40% as against 2004. So, while 2500 apartments were sold in the capital in 2004, this figure was 1500 last year, APA informs.
