Oktay Kaynarca: "My friendship with Janpolad ended with the film"

Actor Oktay Kaynarca who has become popular by Chakir's role in the film "Kurtlar Vadisi" spoke to APA when he was on a visit in Azerbaijan. He expressed opinion on some issues about the film. The actor touched on the opinions that the film was directed by two directors: "They say as the film had two directors. But it is not true. However, I must say that, we had to end the shooting 6 months ago. There were some problems that I don’t want to dwell on. It was necessary to take this step to prevent any dissatisfaction between the cast and the director. According to the scenario, the film was to last long. Chakir was to go on playing in the film. The friendship between Janpolad and Chakir, adventures, heroisms were to last. I heard, the film is loved very much. I was amazed by seeing so much love in Azerbaijan. I was welcomed as if in my country, I didn’t expect it."

Stating that the film is based on real live, O.Kaynarca noted there are such people in our life: "In fact, the characters in the film are the prototypes of some people. The roles we played remember some people but not so much. Real life joined with the film in the shootings."

Underlining that, this role was very important to him, the actor valued the character Chakir as a real role: "We know that, there are such people in Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Turkmenistan. Everyone feels himself as Chakir sometimes, in fact. Therefore, Chakir was loved so much. Every spectator saw a little bit of his part in Chakir. Thus, though Chakir was very stern he was very kindhearted. No one could believe his death, because they loved him."

O.Kaynarca noted that, he has not so good relations with Necati Shashmaz, player of the role Janpolad in real life and added that his friendship ended with the film: "We used to meet during the shooting, but then each went on his own way. We couldn't be friends as we were in the film."

Answering the question "Did you decide to stop playing in the film because of your problems with Necati Shashmaz?", the actor said it has nothing to do with that.

Turkish actor also stressed that, there has been love affair between him and Ozgu Namal, player of the role Elif for four years: ”We have not got engaged, but we love each other. She is my lover. We have been together for four years. We are together now too."

As cancers placing no information about O.Kaynarca in the website of "Kurtlar Vadisi", the actor said we'd better not to ask him about it: "I can only say that, Chakir will live in the hearts of millions."

O.Kaynarca also added that, he is preparing for the shootings of the film "Muhavizechi" ("Bodyguard") together with Ebru Gundesh, however, he noted that he hasn't yet determined to play in the film.

Explaining the reason why he didn't get a role in the film "Kurtlar Vadisi in Iraq", O.Kaynarca acknowledged that, the scenario writer of the film is Necati Shashmaz’s brother: "But it is not the only reason. Simply, they decided to shoot a film about Janpolad separately after "Kurtlar Vadisi"."
