Checking of the flight recorders of AN-140-100 airliner, which crashed near Baku on 23 December, continues.

It is impossible to explain the reasons for air cash until completion of decoding, AZAL State Air Company told Trend. In accordance with preliminary data, the accident took place due to position indicator fault. Checking of the "black box" of is expected to be over soon.

AZAL suspended acquisition and exploitation of AN-140-100 airliners until the situation will become clear. ?N-140-100 airliner was purchased under a contract signed between AZAl state company and Kharkov state aviation enterprise on 8 July 2004. The contract with the estimated value of $36.4m (4 airliners each with the cost of $9.1m) also envisages training of flight personnel and technical support to the airliner. AZAL has two such planes.

18 passengers and 5 members of crew were killed as a result of crash of AN-100-140 airliner on 23 December at 22.27pm. The plane, took off Heydar Aliyev international airport on 23 December at 22:19pm to carry out Baku-Aktau flight and crashed in several minutes.
