Monitoring conducted in the bank of Alazan River due to bird flu danger

Prophylactic measures are still taken against bird flu in Zagatala.

The information was given to Sheki-Zagatala bureau of APA by chief of department for Agriculture issues of Zagatala Executive Power Elman Ramazanov.

Elman Ramazanov said that serious preventive measures are taken in territories bordering on Georgia, after the information spread that discovery of bird flu in this country.

E.Ramazanov saying disinfection is conducted in boundary territories stressed that monitoring was conducted in these territories.

One of such monitoring has been conducted in the banks of Alazan River–territories bordering on Georgia today. The monitoring has been conducted by regional departments of the Ministry Ecology and Natural Resources and Hygiene and Epidemic Unit. Sick game birds or their dead bodies were not found in the monitoring conducted in the banks of Alazan River.

E.Ramazanov stressing such monitoring will be conducted every day, also confirmed that domestic birds have massively been destroyed in some regions. E.Ramazanov underscoring analyses of killed domestic animals are done in Baku in the labs of Republic Main Veterinary department said that it is found that the disease spread is not bird flu but another one.

He also added that they addressed to the residents via local TV channel that in case of massive dying out of domestic birds, it is necessary to apply to region Veterinary service at once.
