Document admission to high schools starts tomorrow

Document admission to the high schools for the 2005-2006 academic years is starting since today.
School-leavers finishing the secondary, technical and vocational schools in 2005 can submit their documents to the Document Admission Commission (DAC) formed in the educational department of the region (city) where the educational enterprise they study situated from 9:00 am to 06:00 pm everyday from June 22 to July 7.

Document admission for the school-leavers finishing the secondary, technical and vocational schools in previous years will be held on June 22-30. This information was given to journalists by the chairman of the State Commission on Student Admission (SCSA) Maleyka Abbaszade in a press-conference held today. She informed that student admission to 27 state and 15 non-state high schools would be realized in the centralized form this year. 28785 places on the state admission plan are determined for the students this year. This number was 28475 last year. Growth mainly occurred because of including the new specialties to the plan. 23585 of the plan places of this year (last year 23655) fall to share of the state high schools and 5200 (last year 4820) of the non-state high schools. 10828 places (10787 in 2004) are free of charge and 12757 places (12868 in 2004) are paying on the state high schools. 20704 of the plan places were determined on the Azerbaijani sector, 3621 on the Russian sector, 4460 on the joint competition admission will be held on 254 specialties in the 2005-2006 academic year. 120 of them belongs to I group, 39 to II group, 66 to III group, 23 to IV group, and 9 to V group.

Admission will also be held on several new specialties this year. For example, the specialty of “Regulating the economy” was included in the admission plan of the Technical University of Azerbaijan, “Organizing of the insurance work” in the admission plan of the Architecture and Construction University of Azerbaijan, “Ecologic chemistry” and “Urdu language and literature” in the admission plan of the Baku State University. The male school-leavers left the secondary schools in 2005 are not required the certificate on deferment of military service. The school-leavers who chose the specialties requiring special ability (not depending on the year in which they graduated the secondary school) must pass registration in the high school which the specialty belongs to on June 22-27 and take the address of an examining board they will pass an ability exam before and the exams table.

They must pass the ability exam according to the table from June 25 to July 5, and after the ability exams are over they must fill the application form in DAC formed in the high school where the examining board he passed the exam before situated for participation in the test exams till June 7. The school-leavers of the previous years who chose the specialties of the Sea Academy of Azerbaijan or the specialties of the I group of the national Aviation Academy can present their documents to DAC formed directly in the same educational enterprises on June 22-30, and the school-leavers of this year from June 22 to July 7.

They must pass special medical and psychological examination in those educational enterprises. The persons who chose the specialties of I group of the National Aviation Academy must also pass a conversation on a foreign language. The entrants who successfully passed the examination and conversation get the right of indicating the relevant specialties of these high schools. The entrance exams will be held in Baku and Nakhchivan cities. The entrants not passed the competition on the specialties of the high schools can participate in the competition on the specialties of the technical schools (except the specialties requiring the special ability) in accordance with their scored points.
