A very high temperature is being recorded across Azerbaijan starting August 1.

Some 83 people applied to the Baku City Emergency Medical Aid Station with the symptoms of sunstroke from June 1 to August 7, 2017.

The Medical Aid Station received 11 complaints on weekend. Thus, four people were hospitalized, APA reported.

In total, 36 people were hospitalized following the heatstroke.

Forecasters say the heatwave shows no signs of abating until August 10, meaning the number of suffers from sunstroke may increase.

The Met Office earlier issued a warning, urging social and healthcare services and employers to take specific actions that target high-risk groups.

The weather will be hot in the territory of the country until August 10. The maximum temperature is expected to be 35-40C, 43 degrees of heat predicted in Nakhchivan AR and Central Lowland regions on some days, 29-34 on mountainous regions.
