Unstable weather to prevail across country

Unstable weather is expected to continue in Baku and throughout Azerbaijan with thunderstorms predicted until April 11.

High winds and rainfall will continue, with the weather on Tuesday expected to be partly cloudy in general with a chance of rain, according to the National Centre of Meteorology.

"Tomorrow after midday, weather conditions will begin to stabilize. Cloudy, but mostly rainless weather is expected on April 12", said Gulshad Mammadova, the Deputy Director of the Hydro-metrological Forecasts Bureau of National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

The unstable and rainy weather was observed across the country on Sunday night. Snow fell in mountainous regions and it was intense in some places. West wind blew in some areas, sometimes wind speed reaching 20-30 m / s. in Absheron peninsula.

The amount of precipitation in Baku and Absheron peninsula was (1-7 mm), Greater Caucasus (3-38 mm), Central Aran regions (2-29 mm), Lesser Caucasus (9-10 mm), Gazakh-Ganja zone (1-9 mm), Nakhchivan (1-7 mm).

The height of snow covers in Khinalug hit 30 cm, Giriz -22 cm, Shahdagh- 20 cm, Saribash -5 cm and in Dashkesen 1 cm.
