Coldest day of autumn as temperature falls to 16°C

The unstable weather continues in Azerbaijan, as the regions of the country observe the coldest days of autumn.

The snow was observed throughout the country on November 22-23, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources reported.

The heights of snow cover in Altiagaj was 8cm, Rvarud, Khinaliq-4cm,Shabran-3cm, Saribash, Ismayilli, Guba and Kalvaz-1cm.

Amount of precipitation in Rvarud (Lerik) was 12 mm, Agsu-5mm, Lerik-4mm, Ismayilli, Altiagaj, Gabala- 3mm, Shabran, Kishchay, Yardimli-2mm, Oguz, Shamakhi, Khachmaz, Nabran, Kalvaz, Lankaran, Astara, Gazakh, Jafarkhan, Sabirabad, Kurdamir, Goychay, Tartar, Barda, Guba, Shaki, Dashkasan-1mm, Absheron peninsula: Mashtaga-3mm, Baku, Alat, Jilov, Neft dashlari, Bina, Sumgayit, Montin, Pirallahi-1mm.

The minimum temperature in Baku and Absheron peninsula was 2 degrees of frost, in the lowlands of Central Aran 0-2 degrees, in mountainous areas- 6-8 degrees, Nakchivan AR- 7-11degrees, in the high mountain areas of Greater Caucasus-13-16 degrees.

The ministry earlier warned that in the regions of Azerbaijan the unstable weather will continue till November 24.  There is the possibility of freezing roads in mountainous areas.
