Those tourists and chess fans, who are waiting to visit Baku to attend the 42nd World Chess Olympiad scheduled for this September, will not limit themselves to watching the matches. They will also have a chance to see the beauty of the capital city as the autumn is one of the best times to visit Baku.

Apart from its comfortable temperatures and generally clear weather, fall is perhaps most famous for its pleasant winds.

While autumn technically begins in late September, it’s still usually quite warm (sometimes very hot) at this time of year in Baku. Soaking in parks of the city, while gazing at the autumn foliage is also an unforgettable experience.

Given the fact that the Crystal Hall, which will host this great event, is located in the heart of Baku Boulevard and has a beautiful view of the Caspian Sea, it is likely this area will become a main attraction for both Baku residents and its guests.

Baku Boulevard is a fine example of the material culture of Azerbaijan, while at the same time a special natural complex that forms the historical and modern appearance of the capital.

The old part of the Boulevard, which celebrated 100th anniversary in 2009, begins from Azneft Square. In order to extend the walk towards the beautiful Boulevard, which is also Baku's most popular address for many love couples, the government decided to expand its area. The construction of the new Boulevard ended in 2012.

Now the length of the Baku Boulevard is 8 km. In future, the park will be expanded to 16-25 km, thus becoming the largest National Park in the world.

The new part of the Boulevard is most favored by roller skaters. Cyclists and skaters are quite free to do what they like there.

Moreover, you can enjoy a healthy jog along the shores of the Caspian Sea, thus admiring the city’s stunning views and enchanting waves of the blue Caspian Sea.

One of the facilities that will most specifically please bike lovers is the bike path. Operating in a new Boulevard since 2012 the path is located near the Crystal Hall

With a photo ID or a driver's license people will be able to rent a bike and ride for fun on a smooth track – 1.8 kilometers long on a total area of 20 hectares.

Another interesting feature of the Boulevard is the 15 free gym apparatus set in a sport square called “Health” in 2014.

Disabled people will also able to take advantage of the facilities as a special track-pad has been set-up in view of accommodating them. Everyone will be able to enjoy sports activities - except for children under 12.

Baku Boulevard has very interesting facilities such as a 75-meter parachute tower and a Ferris wheel.

Also, the Carpet Museum located here exhibits unique and rare expositions of ancient and modern heritage of carpet art, national clothes and household and jewelry of Azerbaijan's Gold Fund. You can even have a photo shoot in the national costume there.

There is the most beautiful International Mugham Center. Azerbaijani mugam was included in UNESCO's List of Masterpieces of Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity in 2003 and the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2008.

One of the most beautiful places in the Baku Boulevard is the "Little Venice", a complex of channels, where you can get a gondola ride. This small town, which is the reminiscent of the Italian Venice, gives special beauty to Azerbaijan with its magnificent look.

You can view the whole waterfront by having a boat tour at Baku Bay.

If you go towards the Marine Station along the waterfront, you can see unusual attractions, for example the cactus alley.

Fishing lovers also choose the Baku Bay. By the way, as distinct from the majority of other parks, there are no tablets banning the pet walking on every lawn. Therefore, you can see many four-legged friends there in the evening.

Also, there is another amazing creation of the 21st century - YARAT Contemporary Art Space nearby. Various expositions, recitals of artists, writers, musicians and researchers are organized there.

Of course, there are many cafes and restaurants where you can relax during the tour in Baku Boulevard.
