Marathon on greening ends

The "Nationwide Marathon on Greening", launched in November 2014 upon the initiative of Leyla Aliyeva, the Founder and Head of the Public Association IDEA, ended on May 30, 2015.

The project was greeted with an active interest from government agencies representatives, private companies and civil societies. Country’s 76 regions and cities executive powers joined the marathon.

Since its announcement, about 1.5 million different trees were planted in the country. All the details of the "Green Marathon" can be observed on the website athttp://ideacampaign.org/green_marathone.

The IDEA is implementing some large-scale local and international projects to protect the environment and promote innovative approaches to solving environmental problems.

Along with this, the program "Stop cutting down trees!" launched in May 2014 at the initiative of the Public Association IDEA and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation is still in operation.

The citizens, who witness illegal cutting of trees can send IDEA their complaints and recommendations by calling 1113.This project has made a significant contribution to preventing tree cutting in Baku and surrounding areas throughout the year.
