AZERNEWS, TREND attend World News Media Congress in Washington

The leaders of the publishing world, including Azerbaijan's AzerNews newspaper and Trend Agency are among the biggest media outlets participating in the 67th World News Media Congress in Washington DC.

AzerNews and Trend are the only two media outlets from the South Caucasus to attend the congress. The participation of Azerbaijani media outlets on such a big-scaled event showcases the level that Azerbaijan's media outlets have reached.

The 67th World News Media Congress is scheduled for June 1-3, is the most prestigious event for news media professionals.

The Congress addresses the management and business issues facing news media and examines emerging new business models and revenue streams.

The event organized by WAN-IFRA in cooperation with the Newspaper Association of America (NAA), bring together more than 1,000 media executives from more than 80 countries.

The Congress offers three parallel events that together form the annual meeting point for publishers, CEOs, managing editors and advertising executives from all over the world striving for excellence to succeed in today's highly competitive media landscape.

The editorial stream of the Congress unpacks the big challenges facing editors, newsroom managers and journalists. It focuses on new initiatives, trends and solutions but also some of the heavyweight issues of concern to editors, including challenges to press freedom, the safety of journalists and sustainability.

The World Advertising Forum is the annual venue for publishers and advertising executives to discuss successful strategies for increasing advertising revenues from both digital and print – and to learn how to show advertisers the full value of your audience.

WAN-IFRA, based in Paris, France, and Darmstadt, Germany, with subsidiaries in Singapore and India, is the global organization of the world’s newspapers and news publishers.

It represents more than 18,000 publications, 15,000 online sites and over 3,000 companies in more than 120 countries. The organization was created by the 2009 merger of the World Association of Newspapers and IFRA, the research and service organization for the news publishing industry.
