The disruptive blizzard reigning in the neighboring countries is moving towards Azerbaijan.

This weekend is expected to be very cold in the capital of the country, according to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry.

The forecasters are warning of heavy northwest wind and snow in Baku and Absheron Peninsula. The temperature will stand at 0-3 degrees C above zero during day and night.

Azerbaijani regions are also predicted to be hit by snow and strong wind on February 21. The temperature in low-lying areas will be 0-4 degrees C below zero at night, while in mountainous areas it will be 8-13 degrees C below zero and 0-5 degrees C below zero during day.

Sleet and snow will lead to icy patches on roads on Saturday.

The windy, snowy and cold weather will dominate in the country until February 23.

The neighboring countries are now suffering from severe weather conditions.

The heavy snowfall of 60 cm has been continuing in Turkey since the beginning of the week. To this end, Turkish Airlines cancelled 68 flights on February 20. Many schools have been closed and all maritime transport has been cancelled.
