Baku to host Global Forum on Youth Policy

he first Global Forum on Youth Policy will be held October 28-30 in Baku with participation of more than 700 representatives from 160 countries, said the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan Sept. 5.

The forum is being organized within the framework of Azerbaijan's chairmanship at the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe. Forum participants will comprise members of parliament responsible for youth policy of a variety of states, and heads of youth organizations.

The ministers and deputy ministers from about 60 countries have already confirmed their participation in the forum.

The purpose of the forum is to explore new areas of youth policy, and exchange experience in the field of youth policy.

The partners are the Council of Europe, UNESCO, the United Nations Development Program, UN Ambassador for Youth Policy, and the Government of Azerbaijan.

Youth policy is one of the activities of the UN Secretary General.

Azerbaijan is one of the countries supporting youth policy and a variety of projects in this area.

The forum is of great interest to many countries around the world. More than 4,700 applications for participation have already been received, according to the recent reports.
