Entrance exams start in Azerbaijan tomorrow

The exams will take place in 11 cities and 52 buildings

On July 12, the State Students Admission Commission (SSAC) will hold entrance examinations for the 1st and 4th specialty groups to Azerbaijan’s higher education institutions and secondary specialized educational institutions with full course (11 years) for 2014/2015 academic year, APA reports.

Chairperson of the SSAC Maleyka Abbaszadeh said at today’s press conference that the exams will be held in 11 cities – Baku, Nakhchivan, Ganja, Sumgayit, Mingachevir, Shaki, Aghjabedi, Goychay, Shirvan, Lankaran and Khachmaz, totally in 52 buildings.

28955 applicants are expected to participate at the exams. 21828 of them have applied for the 1st specialty group and 7127 applicants for the 4th group.

26,160 students (19,656 students on 1st and 6,504 on 4th specialty groups) are graduates from Azerbaijani sector, while 2,795 (2,172 students on 1st and 623 on 4th specialty groups) from Russian. 17,703 applicants (13,472 students on 1st and 4,231 on 4th specialty groups) are male, while 11,252 (8,356 students on 1st and 2,896 on 4th specialty groups) female. 184 applicants are citizens of foreign countries. The oldest applicant was born in 1988, and the youngest in 1997.  

The three-hour examination will start at 11:00 a.m.

Immediately after the examination, independent experts will expertise the test questions. Correct answers to the questions used for the test will be posted on both the official website of the SSAC and the Facebook page. After the answer cards of the students participating in the examination are processed, the results and graphical description of each student’s answer card will be posted on the official website of the SSAC.

Students will also be able to learn the examination results by sending the examination code to 7727 via a cell phone. All the students (students of both 2013 and 2014) who have obtained the right to participate in the examination will be able to select a specialty online from July 24 to August 5.
