Azerbaijan`s State Statistical Committee chairman passes away

The chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Arif Valiyev died.

The information was confirmed by the committee. It was reported that Valiyev was ill for a long time.

The funeral ceremony will be held on June 23.

Valiyev Arif was born on 28 June, 1943 in Azerbaijan (Agstafa region, Hasansu village). In 1971 he graduated from Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy. He worked at the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the period 1961 - 1990 in different positions. He has worked as Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan since May 1993.
