IT security conference due in Baku

Baku hosted the third annual international conference by IDC IT Security and Datacenters Transformation Roadshow 2014 on information security and data storage technology on June 12.

The event was part of a series of conferences IDC IT Security and Datacenters Transformation Roadshow, being held in Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa since 2003.

Opening the conference, Andrey Beklemishev, IDC Regional Manager on Central Asia and Azerbaijan, said, "The value of data and their safety is one of the important components of the competitive activity of an organization that plays more an important role in decision-making regarding the development of data centers and their placement. Thus, the responsibility of managing the company's data as a main asset has converted into a strategic IT process."

The conference discussed the most pressing issues of information security, management, data storage, and data centers of a new generation. The issues of transition to the "cloud" were also discussed.

Azerbaijan's Ministry of Communications and High Technologies was a strategic partner of the conference. Deputy Minister Elmir Velizade delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony.

The conference was attended by analysts of IDC, representatives of international companies-providers of specialized solutions, independent experts, IT directors and managers, both public and corporate sectors of Azerbaijan.

The conference became a unique platform for IT professionals, where participants were able to get answers to their questions and share experiences with colleagues. The conference was attended by more than 100 IT managers, professionals in the field of IT of Azerbaijan.

The conference was also attended by IDC leading suppliers HP, BalabIT IT Security, Vision Solutions, Vmware, Veeam, Softline, InfoWatch and Kingston Technology who spoke about the latest trends at the IT market and shared their experiences in developing information systems that meet modern challenges.
