The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) sponsors the UCL Central Asian Spring Festival (Novruz), expected to attract an audience of 1500 – making it the biggest festival of its kind in the UK.
Novruz has a rich heritage that has been celebrated through the centuries. Integral elements are concepts of peace, charity, purity and love. This year marks the fifth anniversary of the Spring Festival in London. Student societies from six countries are uniting to celebrate this wonderful occasion and invite you to participate in the festivities!
Attendees will be able to experience the rich traditions and cultures of such countries as Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tatarstan (Russian Federation). Many national cuisines will be available to taste, and attendees will see traditional clothes and folklore, enjoy the performances of young people, play games and witness the traditions that have been kept alive.
Organizers are the British-Uzbek Society, UCL Kazakh Society, Kazakhstan Student Society in the UK, UCL Azerbaijan Society, Kyrgyz Club UK, British-Tajik Society, and UK Tatar Association.
