Poland keen in Azerbaijan’s new scientific technologies

27 January 2014 [12:05] - TODAY.AZ
Poland is interested in holding an analysis of electrocardiograms and electroencephalograms using the new technological developments of Azerbaijani scientists.

The news was announced by Head of Cybernetics Institute of Azerbaijan's National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Telman Aliyev.

A preliminary agreement on cooperation in this field was reached by Poland's Biocybernetics Institute and the official signing of the cooperation agreement is expected soon, Aliyev said.

Using the Cybernetics Institute's "Robust Noise Monitoring" technology in medicine will facilitate listening to noises in respiratory tracts and heart beats, and receiving evaluative information about problems in the human respiratory system.

"This is a new direction that can have effective results in medicine," Aliyev said, adding that there are similar arrangements with Lithuania and Italy.

ANAS Cybernetics Institute is conducting experimental works on monitoring the cardiovascular system using this technology. The Institute scientists have also developed software algorithms to use the "Robust Noise Monitoring" technology in mobile devices, which will facilitate monitoring the asymptomatic period of cardiovascular disease using mobile phone.

Software development will be carried out jointly with European experts. To date, seven European countries have shown interest in the application of this technology in medicine. It is also planned to hold experiments to monitor intensive care patients in Azerbaijan.
