Japanese website http://gendai.ismadia.jp, known in the world for its publications on energy security, has posted an article by World Investerst TV, internet TV`s producer Ishida Kazyasu regarding Azerbaijan`s role in world’s energy security.

Titled “East-West, center of Eurasian energy corridor – Azerbaijan”, the author starts with impressions about his Baku visit in October. He says Baku became one of the most beautiful cities of the world.

On Azerbaijan`s energy strategy, the author notes that revenues from production of crude oil and natural gas are collected in the State Oil Fund and used for future of the country.

“Azerbaijan, located in the center of the East-West energy corridor, plays a role of bridge connecting the Eurasia. Having a special Islamic model, Azerbaijan`s increasing role is admitted by leading analytical centers, international organizations like the United Nations and NATO.” The author also reminds NATO`s official statement, saying “Azerbaijan is the most serious partner in energy security”.

Kazyasu also praises Azerbaijan`s policy towards national and ethnic minorities, which live peacefully and friendly in the country. The author says there is a real tolerance in Azerbaijan, and characterizes the country as a secular and multi-confessional.

The article focuses on current steps by the government regarding exploitation of gas fields, noting the world pays much more attention to Azerbaijan.

The author underlines that the oil strategy of the country was developed by national leader Heydar Aliyev after Azerbaijan regained its independence. Kazyasu also stresses the significance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipelines in terms of
providing the world`s energy security.

Role of these pipelines in development of the country`s general infrastructure was underlined in the article.

The author also notes the active participation of the Japanese companies in operation of Azeri-
Chirag-Gunashli fields.

Kazyasu says Azerbaijan delivers its energy reserves to the world market in diversified form, and, according to him, “this stimulates to diversify the country`s economy”.
The author recalls his meeting with the vice-president of the State Oil Company (SOCAR), and quotes his words on energy production and diversification policy of the country. “Azerbaijan turns the country`s oil capital into human capital. At the same time, the government attaches special importance to creation of ecologic park, cleaning of oil wastes and application of new technologies in production.”

The author emphasizes Azerbaijan`s increasing role in Europe`s energy security.
