
Five students of the Azerbaijan State Economic University, who have attained the greatest success, have been awarded a scholarship of Nobel International Fraternity Foundation (NIF).
The event held in this connection was attended by socio-political figures and official bodies of Azerbaijan as well as Ludvig Nobel’s great grandson, NIF Chairman Philip Nobel.
Speaking at the event, rector of the Azerbaijan State Economic University Professor Shamsaddin Hajiyev congratulated the students and wished them success in future activity.
“It is second time students of the university receive the Nobel scholarship that is a good showing for the university`s life in its turn” stressed the rector.
Addressing the event, Philip Nobel in turn spoke of the reasons of creation of the Nobel Foundation. The Nobel International Fraternity Foundation has been established in Azerbaijan in honor of the Nobel brothers in 2010 by Philip Nobel in an educational, humanistic and historical spirit.
He said that the Foundation has been established to encourage and to develop science in Azerbaijan, Russia and the Caspian region, under the guidance of well-known legal experts from Sweden. According to Nobel, the primary goal is to contribute to the cultural and economic cooperation between these mentioned countries.
Nobel wished future success to the university.Then the students received scholarships and certificates.
The Nobel International Fraternity was created in an educational and historical spirit, the goal of the NIF is to continue a once established but since long abandoned highway towards higher learning, education, cultural and diplomatic efforts, as well as charity towards youth.
Its purpose is to follow the path of Ludvig Nobel and push the spirit of higher education, cultural and diplomatic efforts as well as spreading and rewarding academic feats and achievements.
