Five stations capable of detecting abnormal seismic processes operate in Azerbaijan, Cybernetics Institute Director Telman Aliyev told Trend today. They are located in Gum Adasi, Neftchala, Naftalan, Shirvan and Siyazan.
The institute and the Communications and IT Ministry are working to transfer the information obtained via satellite to the server and its synchronized analysis. After analyzing the information, it will be possible to determine the coordinates of the epicenter of abnormal seismic processes.
The sixth station will open in Nakhchivan, Aliyev said.
He said the sixth station will determine places in Azerbaijan where abnormal seismic processes take place.
The system determining the location and strength of the anomalous processes allows to minimize the devastating effects of the earthquake, Aliyev said.
These stations can fix earthquake within 500-600 kilometers, Aliyev said.
