Education ministry changes teacher recruitment mechanism

Teacher recruitment will not be held on regions this year, Minister of Education Misir Mardanov told journalists.

According to him, it is impossible to hold teacher recruitment in the regions this year because of time schedule: “The procedures of teacher recruitment will be carried out in perfect form. The main change is that last year we determined minimum point limit and people, who got these points, can participate in the contest. Minimum point limit was repealed this year. If we have vacancies, we would recruit people.”

The minister said that the total number of vacancies have not completely determined yet: “The information on vacancies are being determined. The public will be informed about the final results.”

Mardanov also clarified why this year’s vacancies are more than in last year: “Maybe, this figure caused by age limit, since many teachers have retired due to age limit. But, there is no accurate information that what special groups have more vacancies.”
