Traffic Police improves road safety measures

The Azerbaijani State Traffic Police have reinforced security measures on the roads to prevent the increasing number of traffic accidents in summer, Central Traffic Police Department's division chief Kamran Aliyev said.

The toughened measures are linked with the increase in the number of accidents over the weekend, and aimed at increasing the responsible attitude of drivers to the traffic rules and informing them so that to reduce the number of road accidents and their victims, Aliyev said.

The main causes of the traffic accidents are high speed, drunk drivers, improper overtaking and maneuvering, etc., he said.
