
The strong fire occurred in IDP building in Baku’s Binagadi district was completely extinguished, Deputy Emergency Minister Etibar Mirzayev told journalists, APA’s correspondent reports from the site.
Deputy Minister said that the ministry received information on fire and sent immediately the fire-fighters to the site, started measures and evacuated people from the building. Mirzayev said that the necessary medical aid was rendered to the sufferers.
According to him, the equipment couldn’t approach the fire are because of many small constructions in the site. That’s why a problem occurred in fire extinguishing. At the same time the existence of gas balloons in the building created a risk: “But we could extinguish fire in the building”.
Deputy Minister said the reasons of the fire were being investigated.
He announced that the fire covered about 1000 sq m area.
More than 150 fire fighters and 20 fire fighting vehicles were involved in the site. Two helicopters were in the air for security, but we didn’t use them.

Situations issued statement on strong fire occurred in the IDP building

The Ministry’s State Fire Protection Service received information
on fire in 9-storey residential building in Binagadi district. The
rescue teams of the Emergency Ministry were involved in the site.
It was known that the fire was observed in the building’s 7th and 8th
floors. Personnel and equipments of the State Fire Protection Service
and Special Risk Rescue Service were involved in the fire extinguishing.

The incident took place in the building constructed for the first aid station in Hamza Babashov street of the Binagadi’s 9th district. Firefighters and medical brigades immediately arrived at site.
A 24-year old woman asphyxiated by carbon monoxide was rescued from the burning building and hospitalized.
Deputy Head Physician of Baku City Emergency and Urgent Medical Aid Station Zemfira Vahidova reported that the ambulance crew is in the site now. According to initial information, 2 people were carried to the Toxicology department of Clinical Hospital ?1. One pregnant woman was placed to the Republic Clinical Hospital.
Names of sufferers are not announced.
