New bus routes will be launched for Eurovision 2012

On May 22 and 24 and May 26 during Eurovision 2012, the E6, E7 and E8 routes will be run, the Transport Ministry in Azerbaijan said on Monday.

"To deliver the local population during these days to the National Flag square, bus routes on six points have been identified," a statement said.

Seven MAN NEOPLAN buses, rented in Turkey were handed over to disposal of the contest's organising committee. Six ?SUZU buses were allocated to transport press representatives from hotels to the National Flag Square.

Additionally, 8-10 cars at specifically defined taxi stops are at the disposal of residents. At the Heydar Aliyev International Airport 50 cars offer their services on a regular basis as a taxi.

The representatives of 42 countries arrived in Azerbaijan. Some 665 members of delegations arrived in Baku via international airport. The number of foreign representatives, who arrived in the capital by railway, is six people. The total number of arrived participants is 671 people.

The 57th Eurovision Song Contest will be held in the Baku Crystal Hall near State Flag Square. The semi-finals will be held in Baku on May 22 and May 24 and the final on May 26. The logo for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest is 'Fire Flower', while the motto is Light your fire.

Azerbaijan won the right to host the prestigious European song contest after the victory of Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal (Ell / Nikki) at Eurovision 2011 in Dusseldorf, Germany last May.
