
The Ministry of Labour & Social Protection of Azerbaijan has called terms when the need criterion will reach the subsistence level. Targeted social assistance (TSA) is assigned in the country in accordance with the criterion of need.
MLSP Administration’s head Elnur Kalantarli has claimed that need criterion will reach the level of minimum subsistence until 2015.
"Currently the criterion is 77.8% of cost of living against 51.7% by the time of introduction of TSA in 2006," Kalantarli emphasized.
Since 2006 the criterion has grown 3-fold from 30 to 84 manats of monthly income per person. "As of 1 April the TSA recipients were 566,472 people or 127,234 families," Kalantarli noted. The TSA size was 23.66 manats per person or 106.45 manats per family.
