
According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR), currently, water richness holds 55-105% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 80-140% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 35-75% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara zone, while 30-35% in the rivers of Nahkhichevan AR.
Water consumption holds 400 m3/sec, i.e. 56% of decade norm (in 2011, 71%, being 513 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 167 m3/sec, i.e. 84% of decade norm (in 2011, 66%, being 130 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.
At present, water level holds 415 cm (On May 4, 2011, 731 cm) in Surra settlement, 319 cm (On May 4, 2011, 635 cm) in Shirvan region, 278 cm (On May 4, 2011, 550 cm) in Salyan region, 247 cm (On May 4, 2011, 375 cm) in Banka settlement, while 165 cm (On May 4, 2011, 463 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
