The Baku Traffic Police officers will require the vehicle owners a car insurance policy in a case of a traffic stop. The number of vehicles used without ‘motor vehicle liability policy’ (owner policy) have increased recently, Baku State Central Traffic Police Department spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Vagif Asadov said.
He said the police officers drew administrative reports on over 41, 200 drivers, who violated traffic rules, since early 2012. During this period, more than 400 drivers were brought to administrative responsibility due to lack of the vehicle insurance.
The low ‘On Road Traffic’ requires Insurance of vehicle owners' civil liability, Assad said and recommended the vehicle owners to insure their cars. He said in a case of a traffic stop, the police officers will also require a proof of insurance.
Based on the Article 253.1 of the Administrative Violations Code, the vehicle owners will be fined in a relevant amount for failure to sign the contract for the compulsory insurance,
