Ecology Ministry monitors condition in rivers

According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR), currently, water richness holds 125-205% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 135-145% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 65-95% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara zone, while 20-25% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.

Current condition in the transit rivers

Water consumption holds 157 m3/sec, i.e. 81% of decade norm (in 2011, 77%, being 150 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 69 m3/sec, i.e. 90% of decade norm (in 2011, 97%, being 74 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.

Current condition in the downstream of Kura river

At present, water level holds 621 cm (On February 22, 2011, 590 cm) in Surra settlement, 516 cm (On February 22, 2011, 477 cm) in Shirvan region, 339 cm (On February 22, 2011, 337 cm) in Banka settlement, while 342 cm (On February 22, 2011, 305 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
