Traffic movement paralyzed on major highways

31 January 2012 [13:23] - TODAY.AZ
The traffic movement is still paralyzed on roads and major highways as Azerbaijan continued to suffer from heavy snow and freezing temperatures. The traffic movement was limited on the 130-204 km section of the Baku-Guba higway and up to the 48th km of the Gyandob-Yalama highway due to glaze, Azerbaijani Interior Ministry’s Central State Traffic Police Department spokesman Kamran Aliyev reported.

The traffic flow is slow on the Baku-Alat-Gazakh and Alat-Astara highways.  The traffic movement was limited up to the 105th km of the Baku-Shamakhi highway and Agsu pass. The most dangerous areas were cleared of snow and ice, or sprinkled with sand.

He once again advised the drivers and road users to be careful on the roads, given the adverse weather conditions, and use winter wheels.
