Steps taken to halt street trading in Baku

The director of the Narimanov District Hygiene and Epidemiology Center at the Republican Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, Nurulla Mammadov, said the center together with the Narimanov District Executive Power conducted raids against street vendors.

The raid allowed halting the street trading and street vendors were punished in accordance with the legislation. Despite the efforts, street vendors continue to sell food on the street.

Depending on the degree of the violation, the street vendors are fined in the amount of 50-200 manat, Mamedov said, adding that the cenetr will hold about ten such raids in 2012.  Citizens who faced with the street trading in the district may apply to the following number: (012) 566 38 62.
