Ecology ministry monitors rivers

According to the National Hydrometeorology Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR), currently water richness holds 110-230% of decade norm in the rivers of Major Caucasus, 145-165% in the rivers of Minor Caucasus, 45-115% in the rivers of Lankaran-Astara zone, while 25-30% in the rivers of Nakhichevan AR.

Current condition in the transit rivers

Water consumption holds 154 m3/sec, i.e. 96% of decade norm (in 2011, 66%, being 105 m3/sec) in Giragkasaman settlement of Kura river, while 64 m3/sec, i.e. 96% of decade norm (in 2011, 99%, being 66 m3/sec) in Ayrichay settlement of Ganikh river.

At present, water level holds 559 cm (On January 16, 2011, 479 cm) in Surra settlement, 452 cm (On January 16, 2011, 375 cm) in Shirvan region, 305 cm (On January 16, 2011, 289 cm) in Banka settlement, while 292 cm (On January 16, 2011, 255 cm) in Novruzlu settlement of Aras river.
