Iranian president departs for Syria

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad heading a delegation departed for Damascus, Syria, on Thursday morning.
President Ahmadinejad's visit is taking place upon the invitation of Bashar al-Assad, his Syrian counterpart.

The Iranian president is going to discuss with top Syrian officials issues related to mutual ties as well as regional and international developments during his two-day stay in the country.
