Caspian flotilla holds anti-terror exercises

Russia’s Caspian Flotilla has conducted anti-terror exercises in the Caspian Sea.

The drills involved some 200 servicemen and over 10 military equipment, RIA Novosti reported citing the Southern Military District.

The exercises were conducted under the leadership of Chief of the Staff of the Flotilla Rear Admiral Nikolay Yakubovsky and aimer

The scenario of the exercise implied that a terrorist group of 10 gunmen explores the approaches to the communications node of the Flotilla in order to capture and sabotage all existing communication lines.

In addition to testing of the personnel for attack repelling, the exercise  checked provision of medical care for wounded military men and clearance of an explosive device.

Naval Forces of Russia is considered one of the strongest and most equipped at the Caspian Sea.

Every year the country participates in the Cup of the Caspian Sea. The contest is held in the framework of the International Army Games. This year Azerbaijan will be among the host countries of the International Army Games 2017 along with China, Belarus and Kazakhstan.

The Army Games have become the modern form of military training. Last year, Azerbaijan successfully performed in the Games held in Russia.
