Turkish FM congratulates newly elected US president

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu congratulated Donald Trump on winning the presidential election in the US.

“We desire to reinforce with the US our strategic cooperation based on trust,” Cavusoglu tweeted Nov. 9.

The presidential election was held in the US November 8. Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump won the election. The newly elected president will take office on January 20.
