Pulkovo Airport in St. Petersburg is being evacuated, all entrances and exits of the terminal have been closed, TASS news agency reported Oct. 14 with reference to the Pulkovo press service.

“After receiving a message indicating a threat of illegal interference with the airport’s operations, the airport has been evacuated and the terminal is temporarily closed,” the press service said. “The transport police and the airport’s security service are taking security measures.”

According to the press office, some flights might be delayed. Arriving passengers will stay onboard until all security procedures are completed.

Pulkovo Airport is Russia’s third airport as far as traffic flow goes. The annual traffic capacity of the reconstructed passenger terminal, Pulkovo-1, totals roughly 17 million passengers.
