Uzbek People's Democratic Party nominating its candidate

The central council of the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan decided to nominate Hotamjon Ketmonov, chairman of the party’s central council, as a candidate for president, the party said in a message on September 17.

Uzbekistan will hold an early presidential election on December 4. The election will be held in accordance with the country’s constitution due to the death of President Islam Karimov.

Four political parties in the country have the right to nominate their candidates.

They are the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Businessmen – the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan, Democratic Party Milly Tiklanish (National Revival), People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan and Social Democratic Party Adolat (Justice).
