Netherlands Iran's third trade partner in EU: Iranian FM

Relations between Iran and the Netherlands are developing and Amsterdam is now Tehran's third trade partner in the European Union, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif says.

He made the remarks in a meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte on Thursday.

Zarif conveyed the warm greetings of President Hassan Rouhani to Rutte and invited him to pay a visit to Iran.

The Netherlands premier for his part underlined Amsterdam's desire for consolidation and development of ties with Iran.

He referred to the Dutch foreign minister and minister of economy's visits to Iran in the past one year and said the Netherlands giant companies are interested in enhancement of their cooperation with Iran.

Zarif held a joint press conference with his Dutch counterpart Bert Koenders on Thursday evening and met Netherlands top officials.

Iranian foreign minister arrived in The Hague on Thursday morning after the end of his two-day visit to France.
