Turkmenistan, China exchange instruments of Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation

Ratification instruments exchange of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Turkmenistan and China took place in Ashgabat, the message of the government of Turkmenistan said.

From the Turkmen side, the corresponding protocol was signed by Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, from the Chinese side - Ambassador to Turkmenistan Xiao Qinghua.

After the official ceremony, the sides stressed that the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Turkmenistan and China signed on May 12, 2014 following the visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov to China is the founding document in the legal basis of the two countries.

At the same time it was noted that this agreement, which embodied the positive experience of political-diplomatic, economic and trade, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, identifies priority areas of multifaceted cooperation between Turkmenistan and China in the long term.

Turkmenistan and China are strategic economic partners. The key point of interaction between the two countries began commissioning of the common gas pipeline through Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan to supply Turkmen gas to China in 2009.
