‘Turkey loses nothing with French Senate’s decision’

19 December 2011 [15:17] - TODAY.AZ
“This political intrigue has a very old history,” political analyst Zardusht Alizade said while commenting on the possible adoption of a bill punishing the denial of the so-called Armenian ‘genocide’ by the French Senate.

“I would like to remind that France was a member of the Triple Entente, which declared war against the Ottoman Empire. Then they just incited the Armenian population to rebellion with a view to weaken the opponent, the Ottoman Empire,” he said.

Alizade said this "tradition" remains up to date.  “The Western powers have always raised the national minorities against their opponents,” he noted.  “Therefore, I think Turkey will not lose anything if the French Senate adopts the bill. It will be one of the Western countries activities against the Islamic world,” he said.

“The Franco-Turkish relationships will decrease, if the bill is adopted. In this case the French side will lose more than Turkish. It will not make any difference to Turkey. Turkey will not crush down,” Alizade stated.
