The Azerbaijani National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) prepared documents to submit to the Hague International Criminal Court. These documents will give reasonable grounds to investigate the genocide committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis, Director of the History Institute under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Yagub Mahmudov said.
After the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office completes the investigation of these crimes, the four-volume documents will be submitted to the International Criminal Court, he added. “The Institute has collected and prepared all the documents, and now the investigation will be conducted on their base,” Mahmudov stated.
He said some of these documents had been received from several foreign countries. They reflect not only the facts of genocide committed by Stepan Shaumyan’s gang units in Baku in the 20th century, but the atrocities committed by Armenians in Azerbaijan’s other territories.
The ANAS History Institute and Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office established a joint scientific and investigative research group in May 2010 to collect and bring to the investigation documents on the genocide.
