‘Nobody arrested for political activities and ideas in Azerbaijan’

“USA considers that violation of rights of individual is tragedy, but mass human right violation is just statistics,” said Deputy Chairman, Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), MP Ali Ahmadov when expressing his idea about Hillary Clinton who mentioned Azerbaijan as one of the countries where human rights are violated.

Ahmadov said that USA is getting involved in domestic affairs of some countries on the excuse of human rights. It is obvious for everyone that there is mass human right violation in USA.

The President of Azerbaijan has demonstrate real humanism signing several amnesty decrees and acts. This is distinct indication of the President`s respect towards human rights. Thousands of Azerbaijanis` rights, dislocated from their motherland by Armenia as a result of ethnic cleansing policy, has been violated. But USA officials still keep silent about this fact.

The Executive secretary of YAP stressed that H. Clinton`s idea about the existence of political prisoners in Azerbaijan is tendentious and does not reflect truth. Nobody has been arrested for political activities and ideas in Azerbaijan. The Constitution of Azerbaijan gives full opportunity for political parties and public organizations to function. Generally, there is not full definition of concept of political prisoner. Therefore, we consider all these claims towards Azerbaijan to be groundless.
