
The international conference, titled “Twentieth Year of Independence: Successes Achieved and Challenges Faced on the Way to the Progressive, Fair and Dynamic State Building,” jointly organized by the Center for Strategic Studies (SAM) and United Nations Development Program (UNDP), will take place in Baku on Dec. 7.
The main purpose of conducting the conference is casting light on successes achieved in Azerbaijan after the restoration of independence as well as on the results of socio-political, economic and cultural processes in the country, as well as on future development priorities and scenarios.
“The particular discussion topics of the conference are following: Economic grows and decreasing poverty, Human Development achievements and Millennium Development Goals, Oil strategy – implementation and future plans, Improvement of transport infrastructures for sustainable development, usage of resource for development purposes, upcoming steps for progressive, fair and dynamic state building, as well as state building based on knowledge, equal participation of women in society and economy, not to mention the profile of the next generation – youth for the future of Azerbaijan, productive agribusiness in diversified economy, balancing between economic grows and environmental protection, creation of job places in the globalization and competitive economy, tourism – main power of diversification, roads to the diversification of the economy of Azerbaijan etc,” the SAM statement reads.
More, than 300 participants invited to the event, including state and governmental officials, representatives of international organizations and diplomatic corpses, civil society and leading mass media, local and international experts.
