Mayor of Astrakhan city in Azerbaijan

Visiting delegation led by the Mayor of Astrakhan city of Russia Sergey Bozhenov has today visited the Alley of Honors to pay tribute to Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev. They put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

The Russian delegation visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence and territorial integrity. Then, Bozhenov and his accompanying delegation visited Baku City Executive Power. In the meeting the sides exchanged views on development of relations between Baku`s and Astrakhan`s Narimanov districts which have become sister districts since 2006.Head of the Baku`s Narimanov District executive authorities Abdin Farzaliyev briefed the delegation on works carried out in the district.

In turn, Mayor of Astrakhan spoke of high level relations between Azerbaijan and Russia, adding realization of a number of projects in Astrakhan by Azerbaijani side. He pointed out reconstruction of school number 1, erection of the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev is an evidence of cultural cooperation between the two countries.
