Azerbaijan ends municipal elections – UPDATE

Voting in additional and new municipal elections ended in Azerbaijan at 7 pm, Director of the Information Center at the Azerbaijani Central Elections Commission Ramil Huseynov said.

As of 5:00 pm, voter turnout in repeated, additional and new municipal elections in Azerbaijan hits 21.75 percent (251,426 voters), he said.

As of 3:00 pm, voter turnout in repeated, additional and new municipal elections in Azerbaijan hits 18.83 percent (217,681 voters), director of the Information Center at the Azerbaijani Central Elections Commission Ramil Huseynov said.

"Taking into account that these elections are repeated, additional and new, voter turnout can be considered as satisfactory," Huseynov said. He said that the CEC has not received any complaints via "hotline".

As of 10:00 am, voter turnout in repeated, additional and new municipal elections in Azerbaijan hits 6.89 percent (79,639 voters), director of the Information Center at the Azerbaijani Central Elections Commission Ramil Huseynov reported.

Voting in repeated, additional and new municipal elections started Wednesday at 08:00 in Azerbaijan.

1549 candidates for 464 vacant seats were registered in 330 municipalities. There are approximately four candidates for each vacant seat. The CEC will provide information regarding voting process at 12:00, 15:00, 17:00 and 19:00 as well.
