Azeri chief electoral officer meets Russian ambassador

Chairman of Azerbaijan`s Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov yesterday met with Russian ambassador to the country Vladimir Dorokhin. Panahov said relations between Azerbaijan and Russia were dynamically and successfully developing. The Chairman of Azerbaijan`s Central Election Commission praised relations between the two countries` electoral bodies.

The chief electoral officer underlined the importance of a protocol of intention signed between Azerbaijan and Russian central election commissions on October 13, 2010. Panahov expressed assurance relations between the two countries` relevant bodies would continue to develop.

Vladimir Dorokhin said Azerbaijan gained great achievements in electoral system. The ambassador expressed satisfaction with successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russian electoral bodies.

During the meeting, they discussed prospects for cooperation and a number of issues of mutual interest.
