President Ilham Aliyev receives World Bank`s Regional Director for South Caucasus - UPDATE - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received today Asad Alam, World Bank`s Regional Director for the South Caucasus. Alam conveyed greetings of the World Bank`s Vice President, Philippe Le Houérou to the Head of State.

Alam congratulated President Aliyev on the accomplishments made in Azerbaijan since the country regained independence 20 years ago. He praised the World Bank`s successful cooperation with Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev highly appreciated cooperation between the World Bank and Azerbaijan. He added projects of mutual interest would be supported in the future, as well.

They stressed the rapid development of non-oil sector in Azerbaijan in 2011. The importance of joint projects being carried out in Azerbaijan was stressed at the meeting.

President Ilham Aliyev asked Alam to extend his greetings to the World Bank`s Vice President, as well.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today received Chairman of the Munich Security Conference, Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger.

The talks revolved around the Azerbaijan-EU relations, regulation of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, cooperation in energy sphere and other questions.
