Ruling party comments on Azerbaijan’s election as non-permanent member of UN Security Council

“The election of Azerbaijan, a young state, as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council is the world’s assessment of the policy pursed by Baku,” deputy chairman, executive secretary of New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) Ali Ahmadov told journalists.

Ali Ahmadov said this fact evidences the increase of Azerbaijan’s position in the world policy, international arena.

He added that non-permanent membership will increase Azerbaijan’s role in the international arena.

“I want to believe that it will also increase the importance of the diplomatic efforts towards the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict,” he said.

Ali Ahmadov said Azerbaijan, as a country that underwent terrorism, will contribute to struggle against terrorism during the term of non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council.
